- Strategic thinker, with leadership and management experience
- A strong professional network and networking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Mission alignment and passion for our organization
- Strong project management skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

We encourage enthusiastic candidates with less experience to apply as well, or reach out to the Board to discuss possibilities.
Time commitment
This is a new Board position for our organization. We anticipate that this role may require approximately 6 volunteer hours per week of work, with potentially more work hours during times of active fundraising drives or other events.
All board members attend monthly 2-hour board meetings, which take place either online or in person in Portland. We also occasionally hold special meetings; when a special meeting is needed, board members are notified in advance and arrangements are made for all to be able to attend.
All board members also attend two board retreats each year: a Financial Retreat, where we review and approve the Budget, in fall (usually October); and a Visioning Retreat, where we review and adjust our Strategic Plan, in winter (usually February). Board retreats include two full days of meetings, as well as a board dinner, and currently take place in Portland.
Apply
Thank you for your interest in this vitally important role on our Board of Directors. Again, we encourage candidates with less experience to apply as well, or to reach out to the Board to discuss possibilities. Please send your resume and a short cover letter to our Board Secretary, Rhiannon Patterson, at rhiannon@rewildportland.com, outlining your interest and qualifications. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Note: Board member positions of nonprofit organizations are unpaid.
Deadline: This position is open immediately.
