Shelter / Urine-Tanning

Anyone know anything about it or how it's done? Also, I have heard that urine tanned hides are waterproof, yet don't expand/contract in response to wetness the way rawhide does. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Thanks.

I just read this alert at the top of the page:
"Alert: This site has taken a lot of time and energy. I need to renew the hosting service as it will expire in March (while I am away). If you want this site to be here the next time you log on to the internet, please donate to my paypal account so I can renew it for several years. I need a couple hundred dollars to really secure the site so I don't have to think about this for a long time."
I don't have a paypal account (and I don't have a credit card either - so I can't really get a paypal account). I would be willing to chip in some money, though, if there's an address I can send it to.
